Welcome to this website

The municipality of Wierden consists of two villages, Wierden and Enter, and a few hamlets. Wierden has a varied countryside. Typical for Twente is an agriculture landscape with woods, meadows with wooded banks and picturesque farmhouses. There are several nature reserves like the moors 'Wierdense Veld' and 'Mokkelengoor'.
For those who are keen on water sports there are plenty of possibilities: e.g. rowing on the Twente canal or the Regge and swimming in the indoor swimmingpools of Wierden and Enter. Or visit the "Lageveld", a large recreation area with sandy  beaches, lovely for sunbathing, swimming and surfing. During the summer, a traditional 'Enterse Zomp' sails on the Regge whose helmsman will be pleased to take you aboard. 
There are several places to satisfy your appetite, ranging from affordable to exclusive ones. For only a drink you stop off in one of our pubs.

Visitors who would like to stay in Wierden are welcome in B&B's, camp-sites and holidayparks. Maybe you are interested in looking around in one of our art galleries or e.g. the "clog and zompen" museum in Enter. 

More tourist information such as walking- and cyclingroutes, can be obtained at the local Tourist Information Centres.
